Dear students and staff
Campus Protection have advised that staff and students should not park their vehicles overnight on the Steve Biko Campus, Ritson Campus or on the ML Sultan Campus in Durban.
The security team have clarified that this request does not apply to students residing in on-campus residences.
Last night, on the Steve Biko Campus, protestors burnt a vehicle that belonged to a PhD student. The protestors accessed the campus under the pretences of going to study
in the library. As a result of this criminal act and the possible threat of further violent conduct, Campus Protection would like to ask staff and students to not park their vehicles on campus overnight.
Students attending evening lectures need to be cautious and it is recommended that they should also remove their vehicles, as soon their lectures have concluded.
